Airedale General Hospital was built largely from reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), which is now crumbling. Airedale was one of five English hospitals parachuted into the rebuilding programme in 2023 when the extent of the RAAC crisis emerged.
As project manager, Gleeds will be responsible for delivering a facilities for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust under the government鈥檚 New Hospital Programme (NHP).
Gleeds is also project manager for the for the 拢1bn redevelopment of Leighton Hospital in Crewe, one of the other five RAAC infested hospitals.
